In short, Finland and Germany were allies from 1941 to 1944. During that time German troops were based in Finland, but the country retained an independent democratic government and was never occupied. The co-operation ended in 1944, and Finland declared war on Germany.

Yrjö Kukkapuro is one of Finnish classics in furniture design. The book Scandinavian Modern Design 1880-1980 (New York, Harry N. Abrams, 1982, p. 151) says about him: "Nurmesniemi's high-polished steel and leather chairs and Yrjö Kukkapuro's bold swivel armchair made of metal and welded plastic turned Finnish furniture design toward a decisively international style." The book Finnish reflections (Finnish title Heijastuksia Suomesta, Helsinki, Kirjayhtymä, 1981, p. 86-88) presents Kukkapuro's armchairs in a large two-page colour photograph, with the text "Yrjö Kukkapuro is one of the best-known Finnish furniture designers; his creations have virtually achieved the status of classics. …"

Unfortunately I could not find the act in English either. Finland being a bilingual country all the legislation is both in Finnish and Swedish, not necessarily in English. Now, I wonder, whether you are interested in this old act from 1970 or prefer an up to date statute. The fact is that the Employment Contracts Act has been totally revised. The new act 55/2001 came into force June 1, 2001 and replaces the act 320/1970. You can find it in Finnish or Swedish in http://www.finlex.fi/ , but of course it needs to be translated.
